Men From Maine Are Not Going to be Happy About This One. . .

The future is looking grim for all responsible, law-abiding gun owners. Today, Obama released his plan for an attempt to restrain the "epidemic" of gun violence in this country.


Fine. That is completely fine - maintaining our safety as a nation is one of the corner stones on which we were built.

But this is not an epidemic. This is not a matter of gun control laws. This is a matter of social paradigm in which we have created villains out of citizens, and we have polarized gun owners and non-gun owners so far as to alienate them. This is completely a matter of social standpoint and it all stems from the Judicial System and our law enforcement policies and practices.

But that doesn't matter. Just check it out. Both types of gun violence clock in at the very bottom of the chart. Epidemic? I think not.

That being said, I am not denying that it IS an issue. It's a very personal issue for me and many others. I want to stop the crazies from getting their hands on weapons. At the end of the day, shouldn't that be everybody's intention? To keep weapons away from dangerous people. Not to keep dangerous things away from responsible, law abiding people? Consider this...

Flashback to the Aurora movie theater shooting crisis that took place this past summer. A man, now supposed to be "mentally ill" walks into a movie theater and shoots up a room full of innocent movie go-ers. This was tragic and unnecessary. The immediate reaction from many Americans was "WHY IS ANYONE ALLOWED TO HAVE A GUN EVER UNLESS THEY ARE IN THE MILITARY?!?"
They were missing this vital piece of information.
That movie theater was a gun-free zone. Therefore showing that:
- This asshat was just crazy. He obviously did not care whether he was allowed to have a gun or not.
- Since it was a gun-free zone, nobody - not even a licensed gun carrier - had any means of protecting themselves.

Did we ever consider that if guns were allowed, and responsible Americans with a license to carry could have been armed on the scene of the crime, somebody could have prevented this from happening? Or at least diminished the damage that this crazy mental criminal created?

When someone is licensed to carry, it is for their own personal protection. If a man walks into a movie theater and tries to shoot at you, and you are a licensed carrier, you are COMPLETELY within your rights to shoot back. In fact, it's kind of a responsibility since you have the ability to protect those around you from an impending danger.

But sadly, there was no possibility for protection. Responsible gun owners could have have their guns, numerous helpless people were injured and killed, and all chaos was due to one man who wouldn't give a shit about any gun law.

The bottom line is - guns are for protection or hunting. They aren't for crazies and they aren't for killers. By restricting automatic weapons and limiting magazines to a round of 10 at a time, the only thing that is being stopped is the American Way. The only ends that this achieves is limiting the rights of the American people that are CLEARLY outlined in the Bill of Rights.

I'm sorry, I thought the Constitution was supposed to be the law of the land? Or was that cancelled....


The way to suppress this so-called outbreak of gun violence is not to take away the Constitutional right to bear arms by undermining Congress with the Presidential Power of Persuasion. It is to take both the more logical and Constitutional route by STOPPING THE PERPETRATORS AT THE SOURCE.


I do agree with Obama that tightening up background checks is a great way to help ensure the legitimacy of gun ownership. If a person is rightfully licensed and has no reason to not be able to get a gun, then they will not mind a thorough background check. Nothing to hide, no shame, in the clear. Right?

But we can't just stop there. We must, as per usual, be wicked extreme and put a ban on assault rifles, and then limit the number of bullets that can be in a magazine. This is useless. USELESS I SAY.

Someone who is going to commit a lethal crime using a gun will not give two hoots about whether it is legal or not to:
A. own the gun
B. touch the gun
C. have a certain number of bullets in the magazine
D. obtain an assault rifle
E. steal the gun
F. kill someone to then steal their gun
G. kill more people
H. any other number of possibilities

To put this in context, trying to stop a killer from killing by banning guns is like trying to stop a crackhead from doing crack by making it illegal. Which is already is. And millions of people still do it.

So look how that worked out?

Anyone who is going to willingly find a weapon and then commit a crime with it will not abide by laws. This is a fact. This is just THE PLAIN DAMN TRUTH.

So why can we Americans not get this through our thick skulls? It's human. There's good guys and bad guys. When we get a trace on bad guys who have previously committed crimes, we are fully within our rights to stop them before they have the chance to strike again. Actually, we would be putting our fellow citizens in danger if we did NOT stop them.


And here en-lies the problem. We have to stop playing the mental illness card as an excuse to let people out of jail. As a nation, we consistently let people out of jail who have committed serious crimes and we KNOW they are dangerous!


But due to things like bribery, laziness on behalf of the lawyers, and certain states eliminating the death penalty, more loose-cannon killers are walking free than I bet you would care to know.

How about this? 90% of all state prisoners are repeat offenders. 70% of the crime in America is committed by 6% of our criminals.
WHAT?
That makes you feel reassured, doesn't it? So, my friends. I've said this a thousand times and now a thousand-and-one - It's not a matter of stopping the availability of guns. It is a matter of stopping dangerous people who are already on the radar. As of 2006, over there are over 1 million inmates in America who are mentally ill. Pleading insanity should no longer be an option in court case. If somebody is insane, that makes them a danger to society. The main job of our government is to ensure our safety, which we as a country so often forget. Therefor, they should lock these insane people away. There should be no second chance.

In modern times where lethal incidents can happen instantaneously, there is no room left for benefit of the doubt, especially when dealing with people who are diagnosed as mentally ill or unstable. The majority, if not all, of these terrifying murder incidents that took place over the past year were perpetrated by a mentally ill person. And so, the trend is not due to lackadaisical gun laws. It is due to a lackadaisical law enforcement system and a society that is too softy-touchy-feely and so full of pansies so that NOBODY seems to have the gall to say
"Hey, this person is unstable and therefore a threat to society. Lock him away" or
"They committed murder, sentence them to death" or
"You're offering 1 billion dollars to not go to jail after raping and killing someone? Whatever, I don't want the money. You're going to jail."

Jeez. I feel like we will never learn. We're sliding backwards and REPEATEDLY shooting ourselves in the foot, quite literally. It's all due to three things.
1. Fear
2. Political Correctness
3. Irresponsibility

We have gone to far to the left on the gun control issue that some hole-in-the-wall newspaper actually put hundreds of families in danger with this one, dumbass article. Honestly! This shit blows my mind. This newspaper, The Journal News out of New York, created an interactive database map of the names and addresses of all licensed gun carriers and gun owners in Westchester, Rockland and Putnam. This means that the names and addresses of 16,000 people who are rightfully allowed to carry concealed weapons are now floating around for everyone to see. This totally goes against American Constitutional Law, not to mention endangers everyone.

The gun-fearing liberals just fucked themselves because now they have reveals which houses ARE NOT protected by guns. Congrats, you just invited a criminal to your house for a break-in. Kudos.

Additionally, the gun-owners are now alienated and viewed as one giant stereotypical heap of killers when really, they are completely legal and harmless.

The reason people get licenses to carry concealed weapons is so that they can carry a concealed weapon. CONCEALED. NOT SLUNG ACROSS THEIR BACKS. THEY ARE CONCEALED FOR A REASON. TO PROTECT AGAINST PEOPLE WHO TRY TO ASSAULT THEM. God, why can't anyone understand that?!?

Bottom line. LET THE CARRIERS CARRY. CONVICT THE GUILTY. AND LEAVE EVERYONE BE TO THEIR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS.

This Election Business. . .

Well, I'm not going to lie.
I am thoroughly pissed off.

Not to mention, November 7th was my birthday, so waking up to Obama becoming president for another four painstaking years really pissed on my parade, to say the least.



I am a teenager who cannot vote yet, obviously. But let me dispell this right now. If you are a kid who thinks "I don't need to care. No one our age actually understand politics and we don't even pay taxes. So none of us should bother" you are dead wrong. How do you expect to understand the nation, the economy and make informed decisions as an 18 year old when you never gave a shit about it up until your 18th birthday?
Regardless of your political affiliation, it is REALLY important for teenagers to start forming ideas and opinions, doing research on BOTH SIDES to make a rational decision, and learn how to defend your own point of views while still being open to other ideas.


We as a generation have a huge responsibility. Our economy as it stands is in the crapper. It just is. And the democrats and republicans have landlocked themselves into a stalemate because of these reasons.
1) Democrats are too extreme, and the goals that they are trying to achieve are downright unrealistic and counterproductive.
2) Republicans are being painted as the spawn of Satan because most people affiliate the entire platform with the Tea Party --- THEY ARE VERY DIFFERENT.
3) Moderates and independents are scared away from Republicans because of their affiliation with the Tea Party.
4) Extreme Republicans have become strikingly unwilling to change their pro-life, religious craziness and are not willing to meet in the middle with anyone.
5) Democrats have become ironically intolerable of compromising with Republicans.

The more issues escalate, the more each side gets pushed away from each other. It's like the repellent side of the magnet. They seem to just never connect. UNLESS - we flip the magnets around.

The media had a goddamn field day with this election, and I am overwrought with shame because of it. The media, whether it is logical or not, is the biggest influence in an election like this. Almost every single ad that I ever saw was riddled with lies or straight up mudslinging.

WELL, maybe instead of telling us about all the taxes Mitt Romney "didn't pay" and how Obama smokes weed, and how Charlie Bass is a criminal, and how Annie Kuster goes around dropping the F bomb, why doesn't a candidate try telling us what they ARE going to do for a change.

Here's how it is, like it or not.

~ Democrats succeeded in painting Romney as some psycho religious guy who was evil and woman hating right out the gate! (granted, mentioning "binders of women" didn't help to dispell this rumor).

~ Mitt Romney's public speaking skills left much to be desired compare to those of President Obama.

~ Obama is already viewed as a pop-culture icon, a celebrity. That gave him an upper hand.

~ Mitt flipped around. A lot. His final 5 point plan was solid and made TONS OF SENSE, but he should have consolidated it about 8 months prior.

~ Republicans generally suck at dispelling rumors, meanwhile democrats rock at mudslinging. Case and point. Romney had to deflect more bullets than he had a chance to fire.

There are a million other factors that were prevalent in this election. But did anyone else but me notice that Obama hardly said shit about what he was planning on doing in the next 4 year? He only spoke on behalf the scarce amount of change he succeeded in implementing since 2008? Essentially: his slogan for 2012?

I didn't get everything done that I told you... no... I PROMISED you that I would, but if you give me four more years, I'm sure I can get it done.

And somehow, America bought it. My theory (and you can call this ALL bullshit if you want - what do I care? Romney lost anyway) is that the young voters now adays were raised in a society where conservatives are ALWAYS viewed as the bad guy. It has been this way since the 1920's. But this time, it was on an extreme level. If it were up to young voters and they could elect Jay-Z as the president, they would. It's all about fame, image and media coverage. As the generations progress, we are being exponentially poisoned with misleading ads and one-sided marketing.

What teenager doesn't love free speech, equality and democracy? Sounds good, right?
lol YEAH.

The problem is that in the big picture, it's not going to help you at all unless you take the Libertarian approach. PERSONALLY, I believe that Ron Paul was BY FAR the best choice this year. Straight and narrow with the Constitution. We all keep our noses out of each others business, and more importantly our hands out of each other's wallets.

But apparently, the rest of American didn't feel the same way. So the wire came down to Mitt Romney and President Obama.


I do not understand the appeal of letting the government take your money, and distribute it other places that in turn benefit somebody else who is not putting nearly as much effort into life as you are. I'm not generalizing - I am fully aware that there are many, MANY hard working American's who still struggle to make ends meet. There are millions of them. So.....

that's why Obama won. He is offering a way out. Why would you struggle your ass off year-to-year to make 40,000 when you could just declare unemployment and rake in that same amount without lifting a finger?

There goes your potential retirement money, your college savings, that new macbook you wanted. It's going to the dude down the street who graduated from Jack Daniel's and is currently employed by the sidewalk pavement. There you go.

Us kids love the idea of making the rich pay a little more - what do they need it for, anyway? Most millionaires make their money through investments, anyway. They didn't even work for it.

Yeah? That's why we made America. So that the hard working person will prosper, utilizing their skills, wit, and enthusiasm. If somebody makes serious bank from investments, clearly they are a skilled investor. So they deserve every penny. They pay their capital gains tax and it is theirs to keep. The dude down the street has no right to that money - he didn't take the risk to invest his own money.




If you support Obama, I doubt you have even read this far. But if for some reason you DID, thank you for being somewhat bipartisan and JUST HEAR ME OUT. . .

If you support Ron Paul, my heart goes out to you. America would have been kick ass. BUT whatever.....

If you were supporting Romney, I'm sorry for the loss and I feel you. I think he would have been able to turn this dump around. But now we will never know and all we can do is HOPE that President Obama gets his shit together, stops covering things up and starts to make some real progress in this country. Why? Because in 2016, you and I are going to be voting. We are going to be picking up this economic shamble and we will be getting hosed with taxes to repay our black hole of debt. Most likely, social security will be dried up by the time we need it, so we better start working our asses off now. Keep in mind.

In 2016, this country needs to elect a moderate republican.

The most neutral republican we can find. We, as an extremely liberal generation in the whole, need to STOP BEING AFRAID OF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY. If we can find a republican candidate who is pro-choice, is neutral in terms of religion and willing to work and REALLY WORK with democrats (who also need to be neutral) then I have faith that we as a generation can succeed! This candidate will need to be personable and appeal to people. Although realistic and logical, Republicans often struggle with being likable (lol). If we do not reform our thinking, we will continue to perpetually weaken our country and ultimately dig our own graves. Sick. So, what will it be? One day, one of us could be the super-hero politician that this country needs.

That's my two cents - and the government will not be taking those away.

My Feet Are Cold and I'm Not Even Getting Married

Whazzzup inter-NET!!!!!!! Damn, my eyes hurt. I've been lookin at this screen all day (which is really nobodys fault but my own.)

Recently I've found myself talking like Eric Cartman all the time and I physicaly cannot stop. Problems much? Yeah.


SKEWL IS STARTINGGGGGGGGGGG OMG> Most kids are like DAMN SCHOOL! But I'm all like......... school! I'm not that bitch that loves school, but I do enjoy it and honestly, I would rather be in school than not be in school. LOVE SUMMER A LOT but I wouldn't want to be on vacation all the time. My life is just infinitely better when it is going at 1200 mph and I never have time to stop. In the summer I actually feel like the biggest clusterfuck of nothing. I don't do anything. WHAT IS MY LIFE.

Although I went to register at my beloved high school today, and it just reminded me how much I dislike most of the population of our school. There has been an influx of that 70's mindset of "peace and love" within the past decade, and I am here to tell you that is crap. Physically impossible for you to love every single person. And I know as well as the next guy that you have that next door neighbor who mows the lawn with no shirt on and always parks his damn Prius out where everyone can see and you can't stand him. Don't try to hide it. It is natural to dislike people - so why do we have such a hard time admitting it?

PONDER THIS >>> I feel like in society today, people feel as though they need to treat everyone the same way - either for fear of being called out for being an asshole if they speak their mind, OR because there is a notion that everybody has to be loved. Kids have such a hard time telling another kid that they like them. Romantically, friendship wise, whatever. I'm guilty of it too, I mean, you don't want anyone to judge you and most of all, we are afraid of hearing "no" or "Well, I don't like you." The truth of the matter is, even if the other person doesn't verbalize that they don't like you, they still don't like you. And you can't do anything about that. It's the same coming the other way - even if you dont' tell people that cha CAN'T STAND THEM, you still can't stand them. So it's better to just clear the air, mostly when you are forced to work with those people and say "look, we aren't best friends and I am not really fond of you, but I respect you and we will make the best of it."





Moral for today, kiddies: Love who you love, like who you like, hate who you hate, but respect everybody............ except those who don't deserve it.

Just Some Real Quick Updates - REAL Damn Quick

Now that I got my little rant out in the previous post, here's just some real damn quick updates about shit I care about that you probably don't. WELP. HERE IT GOEZ ANYWAY.

Forever the Sickest Kids just began their One Direction Tour. Contrary to popular belief, no - they are not touring with One Direction. Tricksters, they're trying to deceive you. Regardless of the misleading tour name, they are playing in Boston at Brighton Music Hall on August 17th. BE THERE OF BE SQUARE. Or don't be there. That's fine too, I guess...

LINKIN PARK AND INCUBUS. ON TOUR TOGETHER. HONDA CIVIC TOUR CIRCA 2012. It's probably going to be the most epic Honda Civic Tour yet. This will be my third year attending (they've all kicked ass, BTWS). In 2012, Paramore was headlining with New Found Glory and Relient K. And LAST YEAR, Blink-182 shared the stage with My Chemical Romance and the Manchester Orchestra. Despite their semi-gay sounding name, Manchester Orchestra rocks harder than most of the bands you've probably heard.

SIDE NOTE: I wasn't aware of this, but Blink fans have a deeply-rooted hatred for MCR fans and that was VERY EVIDENT within the crowd.

Linkin Park and Incubus touring together is like the best thing since sliced bread. My dream come true. I'm pretty damn stoked, so I'll be attending the Comcast Center venue in Mansfield, Massachusetts. August 14th.

Yo, What Time is it? It's Laundry Day! Once Again - I've Been Neglecting The Blog.

Wuddup my bloggahs!!! I was just cruising around the internet like I do every so often (or a lot often mostly because I have no friends or pets) when I realized that ONCE AGAIN I had neglected my blog for an entire year. Now, I don't pretend like anyone reads this shit anyway, but it makes me feel like I am fulfilling my duty as a small spec in the universe when I contribute a thoughtful post into the world of the digital information. Here we are.


* * * What is there to say? Sophomore year was pretty much a dud. Honestly, it sucked ass. Probably the worst school year I've ever had. There are just so many things about teenagers attending a small school in a tiny-ass town that make me question the meaning of life. When you're entire life exists within a 20 mile radius, you begin to notice random shit that is completely irrelivent in contributing to your success, but for some reason they seem really prominent. For instance, why do people feel the need to hyphenate their names? I had two teachers this year with hyphenated names. "So I was doing my homework for Jilian Emery-Smith's class but then I remembered that I also had to write a report for Joan McCormick-O'Neil's class." It just complicates every conversation to no end. ALSO - three of my teachers got pregnant all at the same time this year so for each class, we had 2 teachers. And all of their names started with J. It was SO FUCKING CONFUSING. All I did was complain for about 92% of the time I was at school. I could go into detail about all of the ridiculous shit that happens on a daily basis, but this would be a legitament novel if I wrote in detail about every annoying hipster, wanna-be punk, incompetent human being or soccer-playing ho that I have crossed paths with.


ON A MORE EXCITING NOTE, I've been living in New York City for the past six weeks. DAMN - What a change of scenery from Amherst, New Hampshire. All the way out in cow country. I'll be damned for saying this, but I miss my tiny ass town. NYC is very diverse and full of life. Too much life. Being out here for dance has been a crazy experience that I'll never regeret, but it has just opened my eyes to the types of people that the world is filled with.

Sorry sir, what did you EVER do to deserve my money? Nothing. Nothing at all. So, I'm going to ask you to kindly hop OFF. The Starbucks employees eventually escorted him out of the establishment, but I'm gonna be honest. Bums piss me off.



My roommates are all around my age. Oh, how naive teenage girls can be. Everytime we pass a small dog, without fail, they both say "AWWWW OH MY GOD ITS SO CUTE" in unicine. Every. Damn. Time. We see these dogs like 4 times a day. Everytime they say "I JUST WANT TO HOLD ONE OMGOMGOMGOMGOGM" STFU. please. They have the same kind of reaction when we pass a homeless person. "I just feel so bad for them! Look, they have a dog with them! It must be starving. I bet that's their only friend." BITCH, you're getting jewed by a homeless person. THAT'S THE POINT OF THE DOG. Let's be honest for a second. They don't give a shit about the dog because one day, there is a dude holding a sign sitting next to a dog. The next day, there is a woman holding the same damn sign, in the same place, with the same dog. They're trying to jew you, my friends. The world is full of crooks, man. But hey, not everyone is bad. Some people do work hard and deserve a little bit of help. But those people don't come around as often as you would like to think.

I Think I'm Turning Japanese - I.E. My Spanish Substitute Looks Like Jack Black

HELLO. BLOG. COMMUNITY. I hate to admit it, but I've been neglecting my blog for the past year. And my friend just decided to start her own blog approximately 20 minutes ago. Then it hit me. . . The reason my life has felt empty for the past 13 months is because I forgot about my blog. That big void in my soul is now filling up.
Just kidding because ACTUALLY this past year has been the most kick-ass year I have ever had. Ever. So suck it.

WELP for starters: This hurricane Irene...... What the hell? Kids around here seemed to think that roofs were going to be swirling about the sky while they got sucked into a mass of ocean water. New flash kiddos: We live on the inlands of New Hampshire. We are not even close to a body of water. Please calm the hack down.
On another note, I saw the Blink-182 & My Chemical Romance concert via the Honda Civic Tour this past month in Mansfield, MA. August 9th, actually. Travis Barker rocks harder than anyone I've ever seen. Like honestly, shady ass haircut, Travis. We WILL get married, you just say the words. I'm there. And anyone who doubts this can take Trav's left drum stick and beat it.

You know, I used to have this uncanny ability to sit down for 2.5 seconds and automatically write funny shit. I'm really not feeling it. Somebody help me out here. What should I talk about?


OH. Well, I mean, this could be something. Over the summer, I was forcedly sent to a Jesus camp at the rectory... I.E. the priest's house. Yeah, weird. Good thing I'm not a little boy. Anywho, I spent 4 days listen to kids my own age make surprisingly intelligent points about the meaning of life and why bad things happen and where we all came from. All very interesting. And to that, I say.

Today I had this substitute for spanish who looked EXACTLY like Jack Black. I think it was Jack Black. What I don't understand is 1) Why Jack Black would huck it all the way to the East coast to teach a bunch of nimrod sophomores and 2) Where my teacher would be when it's only the 3rd day of school. Like, you can't be sick already, Kim, GOD. Where do you have to go? No meetings, everyone else is teaching. I bet she was ditching. Wouldn't blame her if I had a class as nit-witted as us. But I think we're pretty damn funny, so until the day that I become a Spanish 3 teacher, be "ousente" as much as you want, Kim.
